Week 9 Posting - Contingency Plans

Anytime a company stores or processes any data that is needed for company operations there should be a contingency plan in place, this plan is a step-by-step plan to keep the company running in a limited fashion even after a disaster. A plan should include at least one supervisor from the different portions of the company to help set a priority list of what services or programs need to be running to do the bare minimum amount of work. Also, a backup plan for communications in the event of a hurricane, flood, tornado, terrorist attack, or zombie apocalypse. Many larger companies already have these and portions of them are shared with the customer within an MOU. Most of the time communication equipment is the top priority followed by intranet sites. To ease the load and better prepare for a failure the use of cloud computing can help keep everything running.
